Supplies

Every line arrives with the document the committee asks for.

Reinforcement, structural steel and metal products

The heaviest single line in almost every construction contract, and the one where the price gap between suppliers is felt most. It is also the line the acceptance committee checks the paperwork on most carefully.

What we supply

If your item is not on the list, send it anyway — the list is a guide, not a limit.

What is in this group?

Reinforcing steel
B500B and B500C, in bar and coil, straight or cut and bent to schedule
Welded reinforcement mesh
standard sheets and made to project dimensions
Hot-rolled sections
IPE, HEA, HEB, UPN, angle steel
Hollow sections
square, rectangular and circular, black and galvanised
Steel sheet
hot-rolled, cold-rolled, galvanised, chequer plate
Fasteners
bolts, anchors, dowels, threaded rod — to the specified strength class
Standards

The standard in the BoQ decides what can and cannot be delivered.

Which standards prove conformity?

We check which standard is written into the contract documents and confirm in writing that what we propose meets it. Where the written requirement does not exist on the market in that form, we say so before ordering, not after delivery.

BDS EN 10080
Steel for the reinforcement of concrete. Defines classes B500A/B/C and bond requirements.
BDS EN 10025
Hot-rolled products of structural steels — S235, S275, S355.
BDS EN 10219 / 10210
Hollow sections, cold and hot formed.
BDS EN ISO 1461
Hot dip galvanised coatings — coating thickness by element thickness.
Regulation (EU) 305/2011
Construction Products Regulation — the basis for the declaration of performance.
Documents

A missing document is declared missing.

Which documents does the acceptance committee receive?

  • EN 10204 type 3.1 inspection certificate with chemical composition and mechanical properties for the specific heat
  • Declaration of performance (DoP) under Regulation 305/2011
  • Tensile and bend test reports
  • Traceability from heat number to delivered goods to project

The documents arrive with the goods, organised line by line. We do not go looking for them once the committee asks.

Lead times

Indicative. A binding deadline is given only in a written quote.

Europe or Asia — which makes sense for this group?

Europe

Speed and documentation

Typical lead time
2–4 weeks for standard sections and grades from European mills; cut-and-bent reinforcement adds the processing time on top.

Asia

Price and volume

When it makes sense
Rarely worth it for reinforcement — freight erodes the price advantage and the documentation needs extra verification. We say so plainly rather than selling you the more expensive route.
Getting started

What should you send to get a quote?

  • The BoQ lines with steel grade and diameters
  • Quantities per diameter
  • Whether you need cut-and-bent schedules or straight stock
  • Delivery location and site programme
Send the items and you will get a concrete answer within 48 hours. We charge the contractor nothing — our margin sits with the manufacturer. Send an enquiry
